Comments from the winemaker

Marlene says:

“An interesting blend of 62% Syrah and 38% Malbec sourced from some of Washington’s best AVAs. And “Flying Trout” has nothing to do with fish!  The winemaker’s name is Ashley Trout.

This is a big wine with the plummy, ripe blackberry flavors and smooth tannins of the
Malbec that meld beautifully with the smoky, gamy Syrah.”

About Flying Trout:

Flying Trout Wines is a result of winemaker Ashley Trout’s annual winemaking ventures in Mendoza, Argentina from February until May and in the Walla Walla Valley during the remainder of the year.

Flying Trout produces fewer than 600 cases a year. Most releases are fewer than 100 cases.

From peppery malbecs out of Walla Walla to the more feminine and fruit forward malbecs in Mendoza, Flying Trout Wines aims to bring consumers a little bit of the best of the world and nothing else.
