(Kenwood, California)  – Sonoma Valley’s Ledson Winery and Vineyards recently took home a double gold medal and gold medal from the prestigious 2013 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. “It is always a good day when we are awarded gold medals for our wines,” exclaimed winemaker Steve Ledson. “Our customers expect nothing lessand from a great group of tasters too!”

This lively 2011 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc reveals a rich bouquet of passion fruit, guava, ripe pear and soft pineapple. On the palate, abundant passion fruit, lychee and pear. The finish is delicate but lasting; the fruit transitions beautifully into soft maple syrup and honey. This Sauvignon Blanc deserves serious attention and a fresh plate of seafood. The 2011 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc also received 92 points and a gold medal from the 2012 World Wine Championships.

This 2010 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir draws you in from the moment you savor the aromas of black cherry, rose petals and ripe strawberry. On the palate this generous wine offers up tons of pleasure with more mouthwatering cherry, strawberries and just a note of soft spice. The fruit lingers onto the finish and evolves into white pepper, clove and cedar. This beautifully woven wine pairs with a fascinating array of foods, including shellfish, salmon, duck and the always Pinot-friendly mushroom based dishes.
