Holiday Mulled Wine
It’s No Crock – This Is Fabulous!
- 2 bottles of red wine: Cabernet or Merlot
- 1 sliced orange
- 1 sliced lemon
- 1 sliced lime
- 1/4 cup of brandy
- 1/4 cup of spiced rum
- 10 cloves
- 1/3 cup honey
- 6 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tablespoon of grated nutmeg
Place all ingredients in a slow cooker. Let simmer on high for 30 minutes, and then turn down heat to warm. Stir occasionally; do not allow mulled wine to boil.
Served in warmed mugs (simply run them under warm water) with one slice of fruit or cinnamon stick in each mug. Beware, this holiday concoction will be a hit with guests. You may want to consider making an extra batch ahead of time for parties larger than 12.
