Beautiful South Tasting
Premium Independent Wineries of South Africa (PIWOSA), who launched in January this year, are returning to the UK in September with ‘Wino the Rhino’ in tow, to take part in the Beautiful South Tasting at London Olympia on September 11 and 12. This is the first time these 15 wine estates have joined forces to show their wines under the PIWOSA banner at a generic trade tasting event.
PIWOSA is a self-funded body which has the endorsement of industry bodies WOSA (Wines of South Africa), WIETA (Wine Industry Ethical Trade Association) and IPW (Integrated Production of Wine). The group’s ambition is to lead the charge for Premium South African wines internationally.
PIWOSA Chairman, Rollo Gabb, comments: “The Beautiful South is an exciting ‘first’ for the UK wine industry with its collaboration between three generic bodies representing three exceptional wine producing countries – Chile, Argentina and South Africa. So it is fitting that we are collaborating at this event too. We are proud to be showing our wines at a generic tasting under the PIWOSA banner for the first time- it is great to see how much can be achieved by joining forces.”
While they are in the UK, PIWOSA will also be hosting a dinner for international press and sommeliers visiting for Beautiful South as well as supporting a private view event showing ‘Images of the Cape’ taken by Tim Atkin MW.
